Poetry Month / “Suction cup arrow shot in the dark”

And as the pain flows

like waterfalls

over the side of the bed,

and your little body

is drowning in a sea of blankets

I take aim with today’s

carnival midway prize

and proudly make you

my suction cup arrow

shot in the dark.

This is an excerpt from a poem of the same name that is contained in my collection titled, “Country Roads and Backroad Love Notes” – available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle
