Poetry Month / “Temporary constellations”

Lying on our sides

with the harvest moon above,

we use peach wine and

Levi’s corduroy friction

to fend off the chill.

As clouds cover the moon

we send up our silent prayers

and watch them form their own

temporary constellations.
